Question: Do You Believe in an Ultimate Diet Plan?

I for one am very skeptical when I hear about a person and their new diet plan. I think the one that I remember the most is the Atkins diet along with several other ones that have more-or-less become fads. People are so darn fickle too, the fat and lazy try these diet plans as an easy answer and eventually give up. I personally believe the only true diet plan to lose weight is to eat less and exercise more.

What do you think?

  1. Diets don't work. I think that's been proven. The only reason I changed my diet is because I'm diabetic but even on a low carb diet I can still eat some carbs or a piece of cake once in a while if I'm careful.

  2. Well I am proof that Nutrisystem works. I lost 50lbs on Nutrisystem and have been able to keep it off now for over 2 years. After I lost my weight, I was invited to one of their commercial and photo shoots. you can see me on some of the ads and one of the commercials briefly. Its the only diet that worked for me, but you are correct. Its all about portion control, heating healthy and staying active. Your body needs some carbs to stay fueled.

  3. There is no one size fits all for anyone for anything. But eat less crap, and maybe less over all, move more, sure can work for most.

  4. I absolutely agree. I'll add to that - no junk food. I was in Rome recently and I ate like a pig...but all good food. I didn't gain a pound.

  5. I totally agree with you.
    There is no magic diet.

  6. Healthy eating, exercising, getting enough sleep, drinking lots of water and being stress free certainly helps but then again people do what they believe in, either through dieting or other.

  7. I completely agree with your plan for weight loss. However some people find this extremely difficult so try something that they might be able to do. As you say they end up failing in their efforts.

  8. Eat real food, exercise, get enough sleep and get rid of (or control) the stress in your life. Those are things I believe lead to a healthy weight and healthy life.

  9. I don't ever want to diet again. They don't work. Years ago I tried the Atkins diet, which is heavy on protein, and I developed gout.

  10. My favorite fad diet was from my teenage days, a looooooong time ago. It was called Ayds, a box of caramel squares. I think you either ate one before each meal or whenever you felt the urge to eat. hahaahaha.

  11. I don't think those fad diets ever work in the long run. You are right, eat less, move more. That's the true secret to weight loss.

  12. Diets don't work because they are not sustainable. People still need to be able to function in regular, every day situations like eating at a restaurant, or eating at someone else's house. You're right about eat less, exercise more, but the truth is, the exercise part isn't even necessary for weight loss. People just need to eat fewer calories than they expend each day. Not easy. -Jenn

  13. I absolutely do NOT believe in an ULTIMATE diet plan. Eat less, exercise more, and find what works for you personally. Healthy living is not one-size-fits-all. Anyone can lose weight on a special diet. It's finding a healthy and happy way to live that enables you to keep it off that's the challenge.

  14. Diets don't work! Eat less. Exercise more. Start with getting rid of soft drinks and other liquid sugar drinks.
